Stop Premature Ejaculation
The feelings of low self-esteem brought on by premature ejaculation (PE) can have serious psychological side effects, both for a man and his partner. However, PE sufferers should never feel that they are alone. The problem is global, affecting thirty percent of sexually active men. Also, there is good news for men experiencing trouble with ejaculation control. Help is on the way. Although the exact cause of PE is not determined in every case, scientists linked PE to a physical condition, namely, a problem with certain serotonin signals.
Priligy, the brand name of the drug Dapoxetine, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that when taken before sexual intercourse gives men greater control over ejaculation time. Men experiencing PE usually do not realize ejaculation is imminent until it is too late. Priligy allows sexual intercourse to continue for a longer time period, increasing satisfaction and decreasing frustration for men and their partners.
Physical causes of PE may result from three different situations occurring in the hypothalamus region of the brain: excessive activation of serotonin receptors; lack of inhibition by other receptors; or by both conditions simultaneously. Priligy targets these receptors to balance serotonin levels and consequently provide a man the control necessary to stop premature ejaculation. Priligy is a short-acting SSRI, and is eliminated by the body faster than other SSRI’s normally prescribed for anti-depression treatment.
Priligy is available in thirty and sixty milligram doses. The dose should be taken one to three hours before sexual intercourse begins, but never more than once per day. The thirty milligram dose is used to start a Priligy regimen. The sixty milligram dose is reserved for future use if the lower dose does not produce the desired effect. Tolerance of the medication will indicate whether or not a sixty milligram dose is advisable.
